This program is an initiative of Indonesian community in Melbourne. It aims to support orphans, who come from poor families and disaster devastated areas, to complete their education. For every child we allocate $10.00 (AUD) per month to help them buying books, uniforms and other school related necessities. For every $10.00 donated, all will be given to the children.
The program is run by volunteers and we are using our Melbourne student alumni networks to send and distribute the donation. Therefore, it does not incur administration and transfer expenses. The program began in February 2005. At the moment we are supporting 80 children from Aceh, Padang Panjang, Pasaman, Ponpes Bya Hamka, Pekan Baru, Lampung, Jakarta, Tegal, Yogyakarta, Boyolali, Blitar, Barabai Kalimantan-Selatan, Balige-Tapanuli, Singkawang and Pontianak. There are many kids in the waiting list. But we need you to join in this noble effort to support these unfortunate children.
